Evaluation and analysis

Evaluations

Evaluations have increasingly become an important management tool in the political-administrative process to justify policy interventions and actions, to ensure optimal cost-effectiveness and to document the potential effects of political initiatives, whether these are projects, programmes or new legislation. Evaluations are an essential tool in most policy processes in Denmark as well as in the EU.

Orbicon is specialised in carrying out evaluations, analysis and strategic assessments focusing on agriculture and rural development on the one hand and environment, nature and energy on the other. The company has positioned itself as a leading Danish operator in the evaluation market, and the consultants are recognised trainers within the field of evaluation methodology, monitoring and evaluation including indicators development.

Our consultants have specialised in carrying out analyses and evaluations throughout the project and program cycle from fact finding / appraisals as well as ex ante evaluations over mid-term reviews to ex post evaluations. The consultants represent solid experience with all evaluation types and have conducted numerous evaluations nationally as well as internationally. Together with strong analytic competences this provides an optimal position for extracting of results and lessons learned from projects, programs and campaigns.

It follows from the expertise within the evaluation sector that Orbicon is proficient within the application of all relevant methods and techniques of both quantitative and qualitative character. Orbicon applies social science data collection methods in most assignments, including postal and telephone surveys, personal interviews, focus group interviews, multi criteria analyses, case studies, peer reviews etc. from our comprehensive evaluation toolbox.
