The scope of the project is preparation of Guidelines for the management of certain types of Natura 2000 sites, capacity-building (training) for the technical and practical management of these sites, as well as raising awareness of local communities and visitors about nature conservation and the value of Natura 2000 sites. The project aims to develop greater harmony in management standards and practices across national borders and trans-frontier cooperation.
More specifically, the project focuses on: (1) overview of the present situation and implementation of Natura 2000 sites in the Member States, (2) Guidelines for implementation of 15 selected Natura 2000 demonstration sites, (3) Training for management of selected Natura 2000 demonstration sites and (4) Raising awareness of local communities and visitors about Nature Conservation and the value of Natura 2000 sites.
