The aim of the project is to assist the Commission by providing scientific and technical support for the tasks that arise from the species protection measures coming from four legal instruments: 1) the Birds Directive, 2) the Habitats Directive, 3) the Bern Convention and 4) the Bonn Conventions and its agreements. The tasks range from general activities like drafting and updating of periodical reports to specific actions, e.g. scientific and technical contributions to assist the Commission in dealing with complaints and legal cases in relation to species protection.
